Envision

You wake to face a new day. In your mind, you start on a hike to enjoy some alone time. There is a bridge in front of you on your path. It leads to your perfect day. What do you visualize? Do you spend your time walking in nature, working in your garden, creating a beautiful piece of art, traveling someplace new or familiar, spending time alone or with loved ones? How does your day unfold and what are the the joys of the day? Before you cross the bridge, ask yourself if your usual activities - and your to do lists - align with your purpose and your goals. If not, why not? What is holding your back? Each and every day, take small steps towards living your best life.

What do you envision?

"I envision myself as a Wild Thing."

Yoga Pose: Wild Thing Camatkarasana

For me, a perfect day includes the beach and yoga.

Foundation. Begin in Adho Mukha Savasana (Downward Facing Dog).

Set your intention.

Move. Inhale and lift your right leg up behind you as you shift your weight into your left hand and foot. Firmly grip the ground with your left hand. Bend your right knee. Roll to the outer border of the left foot. Trust yourself to drop your right foot to the ground behind you. Balance on your toes at first. Extend through the left heel to keep the left leg fully engaged.

Torso. Arch through the upper back. Engage the shoulder blades against the back of the rib cage. Press your right foot firmly on the ground.

Arm. Extend your right arm from your heart center to the sky. Continue to press your left hand into the ground.

Gaze. Soften your jaw and eyes. Keep neck in a slightly curved position. Gaze at the sky. Stay for several breaths. Feel the expansion of your body stretching out. To come out of the pose, exhale, lift the right leg back up and return to Downward Dog.
