eXceptional

What a gift to be called "exceptional" and to feel you deserve it because you are unlike any other person in this world. What makes you stand out? Is it your kindness? Your lively spirit? Your intelligence? Your creativity? What is your super power? Use it just as superheros use theirs - to better this world. Joyfully engage your best positive attribute, that one that makes you unique and exceptional, to shine bright to make this world - your world - a better place. We usually strive to be our best. But be eXceptional? YES!

Yoga Pose: Revolved Side Angle Parvritta Parsvakonasana

Express your exceptional nature with this twisting lunge.

Foundation. Start in Downward Facing Dog. Breathe. Set your intention.

Stance. Sweep your right leg up behind you and then step it forward to place your right foot near your right hand. Bend your right knee towards a 90 degree angle. Straighten your left knee.

Torso & Arms. Inhale and lift your torso upright to come into Warrior I. Draw your tailbone down toward the ground and lift your pubic bone toward your navel. Lift your chest from the strength of your shoulder blades against the back torso, creating a slight bend back. Bring your hands to Anjuli Mudra (prayer). Revolve your torso to the right, placing your left elbow to the outside of your right thigh. Press into your outer thigh with the back of your arm while pressing your thigh into your arm.

Gaze. Tilt your head to look towards your hands. Hold for several breaths as you experience the benefits of this twisting pose. Release your arms down as you untwist. Place your hands on the ground and return to Downward Facing Dog.
