Inspire

To INSPIRE is to produce or elicit a specific feeling...be it positive or negative. As you move through your day, what inspires you to be positive? To be a better person, artist, partner, friend, neighbor, parent, individual? Inspiration can strike at any time. You might be in line at the grocery store or on a hike up a mountain. When inspiration moves you, take a moment to pause, reflect and inhale that inspiration to move forward to make your world - the world - a better place.

Yoga Pose: Lord of the Dance Pose Natarajasana

Dance your way to strength, steadiness and balance whenever and wherever you feel inspired to challenge yourself.

Foundation. Begin in Tadasana (Mountain Pose). Set your intention.

Move. Inhale and lift your left leg up behind you as you shift your weight into your right leg. Reach back with your left hand and grasp your left ankle or foot. If the knee tends to splay out to the side, hold the inside of the ankle with your fingers pointing out. Firm the right hip towards the mid-line. Continue to lengthen and strengthen the right leg.

Torso. As you press the left thigh up and back, press your left foot into your hand. Counteract the movement with arching your back to create a back bend as you expand and lift the heart center.

Arm. Reach the right arm forward and up into a soft curve. Release your shoulders away from your ears.

Gaze. Soften your jaw and eyes. Keep neck extended, yet soft. Gaze forward. Balance here for several breaths. To come out of the pose, exhale, release the left foot, bring the arms down and return to standing firmly in Tadasana.
