Manifest

To MANIFEST is to display or demonstrate a quality or feeling by one's actions. Every day is a new opportunity to present your best self to the world. Maybe yesterday you lost your temper or were impatient with your loved ones. Maybe you were fatigued, unproductive and disorganized. Today is a fresh chance to be your very best. Stand up and be noticed. Choose to move with deliberate forethought, decisiveness and awareness of how you show up in the world.

Yoga Pose: Four-Limbed Staff Pose Chaturanga

Demonstrate your external and internal strength by practicing Chaturanga.

Foundation. Start in high plank. Firm your shoulder blades against your back. Set your intention.

Move. On an exhalation, slowly bend your elbows and lower yourself evenly towards the earth. Keep your spine long, engage your core and do not let the mid-section drop below the pelvis. Hold yourself a few inches from the earth (or a stone wall in this case). Maintain a 90 degree bend in the elbows. Allow the shoulder blades to broaden.

Legs. Keep the legs fully engaged and active. Press the heels away from the shoulders, flexing the feet firmly.

Arms. Continue to maintain right angles in the elbows and draw the elbows towards the torso. Do not let them flare out away from the sides of the body. Press the hands firmly against the earth, spreading the fingers wide apart.

Gaze. Soften your gaze and look slightly forward, without bending your neck. Hold for up to one minute. Exhale to come out of the pose either by releasing gently to the earth or pressing yourself in to Downward Facing Dog.
