o RESPECT is to hold in esteem or honor. True respect goes a long way in creating a more peaceful, congruent and loving existence. There are so many opportunities to show consideration for something or someone. Hold in awe Mother Nature, for her unbelievable power and her ability to create and destroy. Listen with your heart - truly listen - to others to open discussion and allow progress to occur. Respect yourself as you learn to stand strong for what you believe in, placing value on your good health, keeping your mind clear and creating a calm spirit. Through all of the challenges life faces, respect opens the way to positivity.

Yoga Pose: Namaste / Anjali Mudra Prayer Pose

Often bantered about on the street, placed on a bumper sticker or made fun of, Namaste is a very powerful word that honors the lineage of wizened teachers, reaching centuries back. Give Namaste the respect it deserves by reflecting on the meaning behind the word:

I honor that place in you where the whole Universe resides

I honor that place in you that is full of love, light, truth and peace

And when you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me

We are one, Namaste

Honor your commitment to Namaste while holding Anjali Mudra (Prayer Pose).

Foundation. Come into a standing or seated position. Set your intention.

Torso. Elongate your spine. Root down through your feet or sit bones. As if your pelvis was a bowl of water, let no water spill out the front or the back as you square your hips.

Arms/Hands. Bring your hands together in a prayer position in front of your heart. Take time to really feel your hands lightly press together. Feel each node, joint, finger and your palm on one hand gently touch the other nodes, joints, fingers and the palm of the other hand. Find a balance between firm pressure and barely touching. Allow your elbows to point toward the ground.

Gaze. Bow your head. Close your eyes. Repeat your intention.
